STEM Explorers Camp: A 5-Day Adventure in Science and Discovery
Get ready for an exciting week of hands-on learning, creativity, and exploration! STEM Explorers Camp presented by Discover Earth is designed for students to dive into the wonders of science, technology, engineering, and math through engaging, age-appropriate activities. Each day features a unique theme that encourages curiosity, teamwork, and problem-solving while making learning fun and memorable.
Day 1: Discover Earth & Environmental Science
Campers will explore the planet we call home! Activities include building a model solar system and learning all about caring for the Earth by making a terrarium and starting your own garden.
Day 2: Discover Extreme Weather & Natural Disasters
From tornadoes to earthquakes, students will investigate the power of nature. Campers will design and test structures to withstand “earthquakes,” play with clouds, create tornado simulations in bottles, and learn how scientists track and study severe weather. Safety and preparedness will also be introduced in a kid-friendly way.
Day 3: Discover Messy Chemistry
Get ready to get messy! This day is all about fun, hands-on chemical reactions. Campers will make slime, create bubbling volcanoes, and explore mixtures and reactions using safe household materials. Through play, they’ll learn basic chemistry concepts like states of matter and how substances interact.
Day 4: Discover Energy & Engineering
Students will discover how energy powers our world and become young engineers for the day. Activities include building simple circuits, designing solar-powered devices, and experimenting with different energy sources. Campers will also tackle fun engineering challenges, like constructing bridges or towers.
Day 5: Review, Camp Wrap-Up & Fun Day
The final day celebrates everything learned throughout the week! Campers will participate in STEM games, team challenges, and mini-projects that revisit key concepts. There will be a showcase where students share their favorite creations, followed by fun activities and a closing celebration to wrap up an unforgettable week.
